Premium Analyst

The Premium Accounting and Collections group oversees all the collection efforts for XL Insurance for North America, Canada and Bermuda striving to maintain results in accordance with established credit control timeframes and guidelines.
Role and Impact of the Premium Analyst:
The Premium analyst role is critical to the monitoring of receivables for XL Insurance. As a result, this is a highly visible role that directly impacts business results. Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor and pursue collections of unpaid receivables to ensure adherence to collection guidelines, credit terms and designated installment plans.
- Perform premium collection activities for selected group of OBU's.
- Work with Underwriting, Operations and brokers to resolve premium booking and payment discrepancies in support of the timely collection of premium receivables.
- Review old receivable balances for accuracy and collectability. Initiate premium corrections, cash applications, commission disbursements, return premium disbursements and write-offs as warranted.
- Investigate and resolve disputed items and reconcile balances as required.
- Act as a liaison between brokers, underwriting and other XL departments to resolve on billing issues.
- Maintain a professional relationship with both internal and external clients.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in Property and Casualty insurance processing and/or premium accounting. Familiarity with various types of insurance programs needed.
- Collections experience a plus.
- Internal candidates should have WINS and/or Genius systems experience.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Understanding of Excel pivots tables preferred. Microsoft Access experience a plus.
- Effective oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent customer skills and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and meet aggressive deadlines.
Education:
- Successful completion of college level curriculum or 2-3 years of business experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
