The Position:
The Administrative Assistant assists and supports all Township Departments - Administration, Codes, Finance, and Public Works - with the administration and coordination of selected Township operations and public meetings, and coordinates a variety of Human Resources functions.
Other responsibilities include handling confidential information; managing technical projects; and records management.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of human resources, legal processes, technology, and general procedures and policies in municipal government.
The candidate will bring experience in administrative support, with strong organizational, writing and people skills, as well as attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including SharePoint, and an aptitude for learning new software is essential.
West Whiteland Township has a lean staff where everyone wears multiple hats and pitches in to support each other as necessary.

The successful candidate must be comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities and deadlines and eager to learn new skills and subject matter.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business or public administration, paralegal studies or a related field from a recognized college or university, plus a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administration or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Prior municipal experience is preferred.
